Madrone is an excellent turning wood and also takes stains and finishes well. Its color and character is a blending pink and brown tones occasional ivory moderate knots and naturally occurring darker streaks that usually follow its tight closed grain pattern. Reclaimed woods of oak douglas fir and heart pine. Ours is sourced from the umpqua and rogue valleys of oregon where it grows well in the rich soils.
